Oculus 2K18 was a spectacular intercollegiate celebration hosted by the students of the Building Design Department of the TIPSGLOBAL Institute. The participants were welcomed by
The participants were welcomed by beautiful art installations from the gate & through the corridors, right till the venue of each event. There were fun games along the way to enliven the event. Our students took care of all aspects of the event: right from planning each event, designing & decorating the various spaces, co-ordinating with the management, arranging transportation & finally escorting the guests to each event.
Our campus came alive with over 150 enthusiastic participants from various colleges. There were some very interesting competitions.
In Threading Tales, participants tested their storytelling & cartooning skills. In Topsy-Turvy there were games to test team-spirit. In Mystery Box, each team had to create a model with a mystery material. There was a Wall Art competition & a unique event where the same person had to speak for & against a given topic.
Pictionary was great fun with team members using their sketching skills to guess the given word. In ‘Split’ the participants had to team up with a stranger participant from a different college to win a quiz. “Shutterbug’ was a photography competition & ‘DaVinci’ a display of students worksheets.
In the afternoon the stage events included a thought-provoking panel discussion on the theme of Inside-Out : the need for transition spaces. Hosted by architect Selvaprakash, the panellists included renowned architect, Mr Dhanashekar, media person Mr Rajashekar of Putchutney fame & famous social activist Mr Muruganandan.
This was followed by on-stage competitions & dance performances. The spectacular LED backdrop & the excellent sound system gave the event a very professional touch. The event came to a close with the much-awaited announcement & giving away of prizes.
